Job Description

We are on the look for a Staff Data Scientist to join our Customer Science domain inside our Consumer Insights & Marketing Tech tribe. Our domain enables personalization by transforming consumer data into actionable frameworks, predictive models and targeting capabilities, with the objective of increasing customer value and driving growth and incentive efficiency. Currently we have more than 300 models live globally at any time of the day.

You will be part of a cross-functional team of engineers and data scientists, in which you will innovate and guide the creation of data products from conceptualisation, architecture, implementation and delivery. You will be an integral part of understanding the business problems, translating them into technical requirements, designing the technical solutions, and support the implementation until production.

Your mission:

• Design and conceptualize end-to-end machine learning models that focus on optimizing the customer journey and improve our incentive efficiency

• Solve complex business problems by applying your knowledge and experience in statistics and advanced machine learning

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy ML services and models into production

• Create and deliver presentations to technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Drive innovation and guide more junior Data Scientists within your circle of influence.

• Actively lead methodological decisions for the domain and advertise best Data Science practices across the tribe

• Be a role model for standardizing our existing ML stack in order to drive productivity and efficiency in the model development lifecycle

Qualifications

Your heroic skills:

• Proven track record of scientific work in your Bachelors, Masters or PhD in statistics, physics, economics, mathematics, data science or similar.

• Fluency and long-term experience in Python including high familiarity with its scientific stack such as Numpy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, etc.

• You write efficient and readable queries in SQL to receive the required data while understanding the cost implications of data processing

• Extensive work experience in a company environment where you acquired a sound business understanding, ideally in a marketing-oriented environment

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• In-depth knowledge how to handle and apply statistical and machine learning models (supervised and unsupervised)

• Experience with cloud-based computing platforms, such as CGP, AWS or Azure as well as deep knowledge with MLOps best practices and tools (e.g. VertexAI)

• You love to learn, are a critical thinker and creative problem solver who strives for excellence 

• You are a team player who loves to collaborate and work with stakeholders from different backgrounds in an international environment 

• Excellent English communication skills are imperative
