Data science is at the heart of decision making and customer treatments in Sky. We provide analytics to inform customer growth strategies, create tooling to drive personalised customer treatments and champion test and learn through experimentation. Working in partnership with our Sky stakeholders including Customer Comms, Base Management, Content and Digital and collaborating with the other teams in Sky Data, we have built and successfully deployed intelligence into Sky and are already delivering realisable value into the business.  

As a member of the Analytics team within Sky Data, you’ll help drive decision making using the power of data and insights: 

What you'll do:  

• Developing relationships with stakeholders to reach a deep understanding of their business areas.  

• Producing reliable, actionable insights through analytics: work as a self-starter and be actively curious about what numbers are telling us and how they can be actioned upon to improve our customer plans. 

• Be able to summarise your findings in a commercial focused and actionable way. You should be able to articulate reasons for good and bad performance in segments of our base and what improvement actions could be taken. 

• Develop scalable and repeatable reports and dashboards using Data Visualisation Tools and regularly summarise insights to influence decision making. 

• Working with colleagues across Analytics to pull together holistic insights. Overseeing their implementation with stakeholders, supporting, and advising them throughout the process 

What you'll bring:  

• Extensive experience in a commercial data rich BtoC environment, ideally in Media, Retail, Telecommunications, Gaming or Financial Services 

• Strong academic qualifications, with an advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (ideally Statistics, Mathematics or Economics) is highly desirable 

• Previous extensive experience in advanced data manipulation in SQL/Python with flair for programming  

• Good understanding of Insight & Decision Science methodologies, specifically strong expertise of advanced analytics techniques, such as predictive analytics, decision trees, segmentation 

• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint with experience of visualisation tools  

• Passion for discovering what’s hidden behind numbers, natural inquisitive mind  

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to produce and articulate commercial strategies with highly commercially aware stakeholders
