SEGE (Société Européenne de Gestion de l’Energie) is the entity in charge of the energy sourcing and management for Air Liquide in Europe. SEGE provides expertise on energy markets and strategy to all European Air Liquide affiliates. From daily trading on energy markets to business and market intelligence, those services cover natural gas, power, carbon emissions and green certificates. To strengthen the performance of Air Liquide’s energy activities in Europe, SEGE’s missions are:
Develop the short, mid and long-term energy sourcing strategies in close collaboration with European Affiliates
Secure the necessary energy for Air Liquide’s operations by negotiating and implementing energy contracts and executing transactions on the commodities exchange markets
Lead the Air Liquide energy transition by sourcing long term renewable power and green certificates of origin
Provide accurate data and energy markets analysis to the global Air Liquide Energy Management community


SEGE is an international team of 20 skilled professionals with international backgrounds, leveraging flexibility and mindset of a small size company while being at the core of Air Liquide’s business model. It is organized as a trading desk with front, middle and back office. This VIE position is placed within the Front Office team, focusing on markets, operations and transactions execution.

The Energy Markets & Data Analyst covers 2 main missions:

Digital Officer : as the main technical leader of the SEGE Digital Transformation Program, the main objective of this mission is to maintain and improve the management of the Master Data. This role is also dedicated to the translation of the digital roadmap into concrete solutions that will improve the energy performance of Air Liquide.

The Digital Officer will have the following responsibilities:

• Supervise the link with the Energy Data suppliers to ensure the high proficiency and accuracy of licensed data sources

• Contribute to the continuous improvement and expansion of SEGE Business Intelligence reports (using PowerBI)

• Explore and propose new softwares and solutions to accompany the digital evolution of SEGE in the energy environment

Energy Markets Analyst : as the “eyes and ears” of SEGE, the main objective of this mission is to continuously follow the news and trends on the energy environment, and report all relevant information to the rest of the team - especially the Front-Office members. The Energy Markets Analyst is also in charge of writing the monthly newsletter on energy markets, which is communicated to a large audience of Air Liquide employees.

The Energy Markets Analyst will have the following responsibilities:

• Daily follow-up of energy markets in close collaboration with the Front Office team

• Monthly redaction of the newsletter “SEGE Energy News” and communication to the dedicated distribution within Air Liquide 

• Ad-hoc market analysis to support decision taking when required

 

During her/his mission, the candidate will also be a player at the technical forefront to find solutions for energy transition projects at the European group level. He will join a great, international and young team.

Are you a MATCH?

Education: 

• Master’s Degree of Sciences in Engineering (civil, industrial, chemistry, bio…) or Business and Management School. An IT or Energy specialization is a plus.

Soft and Hard Skills:

• High interest in Data Management

• High interest in Energy Markets

• Experience in creating interactive dashboards using Data visualization software (Power BI…)

• Familiarity with data handling in Python or Javascript

• Experience or curiosity in programming Digital Automation with Google Script

• Writing skills and capacity to synthesize and report complex information

• Ability and willingness to continuously develop, thrive in a dynamic environment and work in a team

Languages:

• English fluency is Must have
