This role involves working closely with portfolio managers to develop investment strategies for digital assets and the supporting infrastructure. Responsibilities include executing on research projects to identify new sources of alpha for digital asset portfolios as well as contributing to the code base, data architecture, and broader tech stack that supports the portfolios. Daily interactions will be with seasoned investment professionals whose careers span the world’s largest and most respected hedge funds and asset managers.

Strong coding skills and an eye for identifying the simplest solution to a complex problem are required for this role. Work product will largely be independently executed and later peer reviewed; the ideal candidate will strike a good balance between independent work and soliciting feedback from the broader team to ensure project execution aligns with expectations.

Strong interest in digital asset markets is a requirement. Because these markets trade 24/7, the role is not narrowly defined by standard business hours.

Responsibilities:
• Contribute to the development of a python-based systematic investment research platform
• Clean, organize and analyze data using statistical techniques, focusing on trends and patterns
• Combine finance, mathematics, statistics, and modeling to develop investment strategies
• Apply computer science and software development skills to build and manage the technology stack
• Interact with cloud-based solutions providers like Github, AWS, and Snowflake
• Remain current on developments in the digital asset space including cryptocurrencies, NFTs, and DeFi

Skills Required:
• A keen interest and passion for blockchain technology, digital assets, DeFi protocols including crypto currencies, NFTs, and other tokenized assets
• Strong python skills, including experience using pandas, numpy, and other common-use python libraries
• Experience with GitHub, AWS, Snowflake, and other cloud-based solution providers is strongly encouraged
• Coursework in computer science, data science, financial mathematics, and portfolio or data engineering
• An enthusiasm for learning about new technology, both inside and outside of digital assets
• A generous personality who works well with others in a team environment

Pay Transparency Notice: The target annual salary for this position can range as detailed below. Full time offers from Coinbase also include target bonus + target equity + benefits (including medical, dental, and vision).

Pay Range:$108,000—$108,000 CAD
