The Team:

The Bond Reference Data team is responsible for the smooth running of the day-to-day operations of S&P’s Fixed Income products and services as well as supporting our internal and external clients. The team works closely with other functions within the wider global team – product management, business analysis, technology, and testing to enhance reference data product offerings.
 

Responsibilities:

• Researching and updating of newly issued deals into the database on a real time.

• Analytical capabilities to understand basics of pricing and reference rates of a debt security.

• Operational maintenance of Reference data product.

• Delivery of set targets with desired quality parameters.

• Identify data quality improvement projects and opportunities to enhance

operational efficiency.

• Manage client (internal and external) queries and client escalations.

• Liaise with counterparts/stakeholders/vendors globally. Running vendor data comparisons and using judgement to determine accurate data points.

• User acceptance testing for new or enhanced product functionality.

• Review and improvement of our data parsing engine, including the input of desired results into our regression database.

Impact:

S&P offers reference data services across assets classes such as bonds, loans, equity and CDS. The Reference Data product services internal as well as external clients and is focused on developing a suite of Reference Data offerings for the broader marketplace. Bond Reference Data is a growing product within its Reference Data offering. We help deliver research information to our clients which in turn aid them in strengthening risk management for valuation analysis, aggregation of content, tagging research and benchmarking.

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $48,508 to $82,402. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive bonus.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or equivalent in ideally Finance, Economics or Business

• Keen interest in finance and be up to date with current global financial market.

• Good knowledge and understanding of Capital Markets.

• Knowledge of SQL and Excel is an added advantage.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

The candidate must be a self-starter, adapt to dynamics of the work environment, ability to multitask, meet tight timelines, hardworking, efficient with good analytical skills.
