Senior Computer Vision Scientist

DUTIES: 

Implement and integrate cutting-edge visual navigation software on robotic platforms equipped with a wide range of active and passive sensors. Develop real-time multi-sensor navigation algorithms/6DOF SLAM with minimal guidance. Develop comprehensive simulation and testing procedures for determining the best choice of sensors and algorithms. Perform tests on suite architecture to meet research and production needs for hardware components. Ensure robustness and scalability of solution. Architect visual algorithm integration into complex systems considering the limitation of hardware and software resources on platform while accounting for the needs of other subsystems. Identify new academic research relevant to the project.

REQUIREMENTS: 

Master’s degree or the foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a closely related field and 3 years of experience in a computer vision or computer research scientist occupation.

The 3 years of experience in a computer vision or computer research scientist occupation must include:

• 2 years of work experience developing real-time multi-sensor navigation algorithms;
• 2 years of work experience developing SLAM algorithms;
• 3 years of work experience in the application of computer vision algorithms;
• 3 years of work experience with object-oriented development and implementation (C++ or Python); and
• 3 years of work experience with alternative sensors (LIDAR, RGB-D, Stereo-Vision or Ultrasonic) and integrating those sensors into platforms.

Any and all experience may be gained concurrently.

Work location:  8281 Greensboro Dr., McLean, VA 22102. Job can be performed from anywhere in the U.S. Domestic travel required 10% of the time.
