Job purpose:

Within the Human Biological sample Management Central team (HBSM CT), part of Global Clinical Operations, the Data Scientist – is a key member of Discovery and AI team which is pushing the boundaries of innovation and AI in HBSM CT. Our team is committed to creating intelligent solutions that transform data into actionable insights, driving the next wave of discovery and advancement in artificial intelligence. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a talented and motivated Data Scientist to join our dynamic team.

We are looking for a skilled Data Scientist to play a pivotal role in our Discovery & AI team. The successful candidate will leverage their expertise in data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling to unearth valuable insights from complex datasets. This role is instrumental in shaping the direction of our AI initiatives, contributing to the development of innovative solutions, and driving the application of data-driven decision-making across the organization.

 

Your responsibilities:

  • Data Exploration and Analysis:
    • Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies within large and diverse datasets.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business objectives and translate them into data science tasks.
  • Machine Learning Model Development and deployment:
    • Design, implement, and deploy machine learning models to solve complex business problems.
    • Work closely with Cloud and data engineers (Tech partners) to integrate machine learning solutions into our products and systems.
    • Participate actively in the deployment and validation of the models into production to ensure compliance and regulatory standards are met.
  • Feature Engineering and Data Preprocessing:
    • Develop and implement data preprocessing pipelines to ensure the availability of clean and relevant data for model training.
    • Engineer features to enhance model performance and interpretability.
  • Algorithm Optimization:
    • Continuously optimize and fine-tune existing machine learning algorithms for improved accuracy and efficiency.
    • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science and AI to incorporate cutting-edge techniques into our projects.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers, data engineers, and domain experts, to achieve project goals.
    • Communicate efficiently with different stakeholders including senior levels

Why you?

Basic Qualifications:

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Advanced degree (master’s or Ph.D.) in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in developing and deploying machine learning models in a production environment.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, along with experience using relevant libraries and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a Data Scientist preferably within a high regulated environment (GxP, GCLP…). Extended experience in validating complex IT solutions in a GxP framework (deep knowledge of ITMS methodology is a real asset)
  • Minimum of 18 months working experience in the pharma industry (clinical trial context)
  • Full proficiency in French and English is a MUST
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Good balance of technical knowledge and business acumen will be key for this role
