Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Architect to join our team as we build and expand our Data as a Service (DAAS) offerings with a primary focus on Snowflake.
The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in setting up and optimizing DAAS solutions using a variety of tools and platforms, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Snowflake on AWS and Azure.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the architecture and infrastructure of our data services, enabling our organization to derive valuable insights and drive innovation.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Design and implement data architectures for DAAS solutions, with a primary focus on Snowflake as the central data platform, while also leveraging MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and other technologies on AWS and Azure platforms.
- Lead the setup and configuration of Snowflake environments, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability to meet business requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and translate them into robust data models and schemas optimized for Snowflake.
- Implement data integration strategies to facilitate seamless data movement across different databases and platforms, with a strong emphasis on Snowflake data sharing capabilities.
- Optimize query performance, data processing pipelines, and resource utilization within Snowflake to enhance the efficiency of DAAS solutions.
- Establish data governance frameworks and best practices within Snowflake to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain documentation for data architecture designs, standards, and best practices, with a focus on Snowflake-specific configurations and optimizations.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in data management and analytics, with a specific focus on Snowflake features and capabilities.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the Snowflake ecosystem.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Data Architect or similar role, with a strong emphasis on designing and implementing DAAS solutions using Snowflake.
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake, including proficiency in setting up and optimizing Snowflake environments, data sharing, and advanced features.
- Familiarity with other databases and data platforms such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and cloud platforms like AWS and Azure.
- Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data integration techniques, with a focus on Snowflake best practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Certifications in Snowflake and relevant cloud platforms (e.g., SnowPro Certification, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plus.
