As a Graduate Data Engineer, you’ll be developing ETL pipelines, transforming raw data into valuable insights, and moving it seamlessly between systems.

Collaboration will be at the heart of your role, working alongside cross-functional teams including chemists, bioinformaticians, data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders. You’ll have the freedom to experiment with new approaches, optimizing data pipelines, and enhancing overall data quality and efficiency.

Requirements

KEY TASKS / ACCOUNTABILITIES

You’ll help construct and maintain state-of-the-art data warehouses and custom-built solutions, ensuring data is organized and accessible.  You will design dashboards and reports, turning numbers into compelling stories and visualizing data and trends.

In addition to this, you will also be expected to play an active role in the success of the Data Engineering Team. This will include writing code, performing testing and undertaking code review for others, running or contributing to development seminars and deputising for more senior staff as required. 

EXPERIENCE/ KNOWLEDGE

Our software stack includes the following technologies, and the successful candidate is likely to have interest and demonstrable experience in use of at least one of these:

  • PostgreSQL
  • Python
  • Django
  • Airflow
  • Linux
  • React
  • HTMX

EDUCATION & TRAINING

The successful candidate is likely to be educated to degree level in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or demonstrate equivalent practical skills through relevant job history or holds relevant data engineering certifications.

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
