Data Engineer

We currently have a vacancy for a Data Engineer fluent in English, to offer his/her services as an expert who will be based in Brussels, Belgium. The work will be carried out either in the company’s premises or on site at customer premises. In the context of the first assignment, the successful candidate will be integrated in the Development team of the company that will closely cooperate with a major client’s IT team on site.

Your tasks

• Contribute to and validate the data and systems architecture foreseen for the solution;
• Design, develop and implement data cleansing, data preparation or other type’s data processing solutions using the available tools in the context of the project;
• Follow up, coordinate and facilitate all data manipulation activities and initiatives in the course of the project and in the follow up activities;
• Provide support and training on data manipulation and processing to the different stakeholders of the project.

Requirements

• University degree in IT combined with relevant IT professional experience of 13 years;
• Proven professional experience in data architecture and engineering;
• In-depth knowledge and practical experience on Data Analytics and Big Data design patterns;
• Expertise in distributed system design, messaging layer and service implementation patterns;
• In-depth experience of the COTS applications such as Dataiku, Denodo, Superset, Jupyterlab and RStudio;
• Demonstrated expertise in containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes, with hands-on experience in managing containerized applications using Tanzu platform;
• Experience with Python or R programming language;
• Experience in working with Service Management teams;
• Familiarity with the Customs/Taxation domain would be considered an asset;
• Excellent command of the English language.
