Our London based Mercer Marsh Benefits (MMB) Analytics team currently seek a collaborative, talented Data Engineer to further develop our award-winning, Darwin employee benefits software.

Alongside building our analytic products, you will be expected to be actively involved in their design, to contribute ideas, and engineer the platform to deliver accurate, engaging analytics and an optimal end-user experience.

Developing an expert understanding of how our data is structured, and the insights derived from it, you will design and implement high-performance data pipelines across multiple source and destination systems, utilising a variety of data technologies.

What you need to have: 

  • Extensive experience with RDBMS, in particular SQL Server with a good understanding of alternative types of data and database system.
  • A thorough understanding of ETL processes and Data Warehousing concepts.
  • Experience with Python, especially regarding data processing and systems integration.
  • Experience developing for one or more BI visualisation platforms.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver analytics solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with all levels of colleagues.

  • Experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS.
  • Strong project and stakeholder management
  • Knowledge of git version control and collaborative development.
  • Knowledge of server management and a basic understanding of networking.
  • Understanding of the application development lifecycle.
  • Commercial awareness of the value and impact analytics can provide.
  • Curious, self-driven and analytical approach.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment, enjoying autonomy and responsibility for delivering projects.

We will rely on you to:

  • Translate business and client requirements into end-to-end technology solutions, and proactively recommend solutions and product enhancements.
  • Manage and maintain the analytics platform, investigate bugs and issues, and ensure systems work as expected.
