The Red Hat Experience Engineering (XE) team is looking for an Associate Data Analyst to join our newly formed AI & Data team. We deliver business value and contribute to an exceptional customer experience by simplifying the resolution of issues.

 

We are seeking a technically minded, detail oriented, and creative Data Analyst focused on building an understanding of large internal data sets. We’re looking for a team member whose experience demonstrates strong technical and statistical skills, and exposure to various data analysis, visualization, and reporting frameworks. Additionally, the candidate should be comfortable with experimentation, objective validation, and a fast, iterative approach to development.  Our ideal candidate will be passionate about collaborating with subject matter experts and software engineers to positively impact the customer and associate experience.

What you will do

  • Identify data required to answer business questions and measure KPIs
  • Create and maintain accessible data sets for a variety of business uses
  • Perform data exploration and cleansing activities, evaluating quality measures and recommending improvements
  • Describe, document, and visualize data sets, including developing or updating reports and dashboards; track usage of published assets
  • Engage regularly with a wide range of stakeholders and functional teams to complete cross-functional projects and understand the broader Red Hat data ecosystem
  • Present and explain results to non-technical audiences, sharing meaningful business insights 

What you will bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Math, Data & Analytics, Computational Linguistics, or related fields 
  • 1+ years of professional work experience related to data analysis, data science, or other quantitative roles
  • Proficiency with python, SQL, and git
  • Proficiency with the pandas package for data exploration, mutation, and visualization
  • Ability to create visually compelling reports and dashboards
  • Experience with data hosting platforms (e.g., RDBMSs, Trino, Snowflake, Databricks, Hive)
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (in English)
  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language for a variety of audiences
  • Highly self-motivated and directed
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment

 

Skills and experience in any of the following areas would be considered a plus:

  • Proficiency with Tableau
  • Proficiency with no-SQL databases
  • Experience with AI/ML frameworks
  • Working knowledge of AWS services such as EC2 and S3 storage
  • Experience with Linux and OpenShift
