The Business Intelligence & Development Analyst formulates and applies computational methods and modeling to develop and interpret information that assists management with the strategic planning process, including the preparation of strategy workshops / meetings, company objectives, measures and initiatives, and maintenance of implemented strategy. Identifies, analyzes, and monitors issues that affect profitability, growth, and productivity.

 

Additionally, Business Intelligence & Development Analyst works closely with leadership with LUS Divisions, to discuss and inform strategic decision making, including insights into the market, customers and competitors.  The Business Intelligence & Development Analyst is responsible for strategic data and information, trend and scenario analysis, and other business analytics in support of strategic planning. 

Responsibilities

  • Perform financial, statistical, and qualitative data analysis of the LUS operations, industry environment, markets and competitors, and translate data into executable and effective intelligence reports and/or presentations to the Executive Management Team and various internal management teams, to allow effective strategic and tactical decision-making and implementation.
  • Identify and collect appropriate supplier, customer, competitor, market, economic financial and/or operational data. 
  • Manage strategic planning system for a sound planning and achieving long- and short-term business objectives in a timely manner.
  • Create standard processes and procedures for the strategic planning system.
  • Co-develop policies for strategic planning and deployment.
  • Organize and prepares strategy workshops/meetings for program evaluation, review or implementation
  • Provide consultation and expert advice to other group-internal companies.
  • Maintains library of model documents, templates, or other reusable knowledge assets
  • Collaborate with senior managers and decision makers at LUS as well as European Headquarters, to clarify management objectives and to maintain implemented strategies. 
  • Analyze information obtained from management to ensure full alignment of goals and objectives throughout company to enable focus on the targeted objectives.
  • Investigate, document and report strategic improvement potentials to management.
  • Prepare manuals and trains senior management in use of new forms, reports and procedures.
  • Design, evaluate, recommend, and approve changes of forms and reports.
  • Contributes gathering and evaluating market data (CECE) with Liebherr affiliates to determine which strategic direction the company should go.
  • Profiles the EMT national products market and competitive environment, providing insights that support strategic decision-making and for use in internal presentations by senior management.
  • Performs thorough, systematic analysis of key industry trends; the general social economic and political environment; legal and regulatory issues; customers; current and potential competitors.
  • Supplies the market and competitive intelligence component of strategic planning, and proactively makes recommendations to management concerning key intelligence items that require further consideration.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of data sources, evaluating their credibility and potential utility, and leverages them across the company where appropriate.
  • Works with internal business customers to enhance their use of strategic analysis and market and competitor intelligence to ensure that appropriate communication channels are maintained. Collaborates internally to ensure intelligence is shared with appropriate groups and individuals.
  • Maintains an in-depth knowledge of designated markets and trends through reading reports, market research, data manipulation and financial modeling and analysis.
  • Manages technical support for existing reports, dashboards, or other tools
  • Conducts or coordinates tests to ensure that intelligence is consistent with defined needs.

Competencies

  • Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business or Management or A.A. in Business with at least 3 - 5 years of related experience or a combination of equivalent education and experience.  
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation and leadership technique 
  • Strong analytical, oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi task and attention to detail.
  • Ability to develop and perform presentations.
  • Ability to function in a team environment and work with other groups, as well as facilitate group events.
  • Expert in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as operationally required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver license and passport.
