DATA SCIENTIST 

EKN Engineering is a fast-growing civil engineering and technology consulting company located in Irvine, CA. We are searching for a Project Coordinator to join our rapidly growing organization. 

Job Overview: 

We are seeking a talented and experienced Data Scientist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in statistics, machine learning, and programming, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in the field. As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for analyzing complex datasets, developing machine learning models, and providing actionable insights to drive business decisions. You should be passionate about leveraging data to solve real-world problems and possess excellent communication skills to effectively convey findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights. 
  • Develop, improve, and maintain predictive models and machine learning algorithms to solve business problems. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and develop solutions. 
  • Clean, preprocess, and transform data for analysis and modeling purposes. 
  • Utilize statistical techniques and hypothesis testing to validate findings and ensure robustness. 
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in data science and machine learning. 
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into analytical solutions. 
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior members of the team. 
  • Continuously evaluate model performance and iterate to improve accuracy and efficiency. 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Data Scientist or in a similar role. 
  • Strong understanding of machine learning techniques such as regression, classification, clustering, and neural networks 
  • Strong understanding of machine learning frameworks and libraries, such as TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, and sckit-learn 
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or similar for data analysis and machine learning (Python preferred). 
  • Strong understanding of machine learning techniques such as regression, classification, clustering, and neural networks. 
  • Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases. 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. 
  • Experience working with big data technologies (e.g., Data Lakes) is a plus. 
  • Experience with analytical tools like Redshift and Sage Maker.
