What You Will Contribute To Altos

The Computational Innovation Hub at our Bay Area Institute of Science invites applications for junior-, mid- and senior- level scientist positions in our Computational Imaging Sciences group. 

  • Contribute to a highly interdisciplinary and interactive team, and work closely with our experimental cores.
  • Analyze multiple image modalities (fluorescence microscopy, electron microscopy).
  • Develop pipelines for high throughput biological image processing and predictive modeling 
  • Develop multi-modal machine learning models to fuse imaging and non imaging data
  • Develop algorithms for model interpretability and imaging biomarkers discovery 
  • Write and present work at scientific conferences.

Who You Are

Successful candidates will possess the following minimum qualifications. The level of the position will depend on the qualifications of the selected candidates. 


Minimum Qualifications

  • PhD in Physics, Mathematics, Biology, Computer Science, or related discipline plus 6+ years of experience in an academic or industry setting.
  • Track record of publications in the field of machine learning applied to biological data
  • Proficient in Python and relevant ML libraries: (TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Strong verbal and written scientific communication skills.
  • Flexible, collaborative, and inclusive team player, open to diverse perspectives.
  • Innovative and creative mindset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for image analysis.
  • Experience using cloud computing and high performance computing.

 

The salary range for Redwood City, CA:

  • Senior Scientist I: $202,000 - $270,000

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
