Job Summary
• This role is responsible for establishing and executing the vision and goals for the software engineering department. The role takes care of the overall design, and delivery of key software engineering projects. The role has expertise in a broad set of technologies and is often consulted on the design and delivery of new solutions. The role acts as a strategic thought partner to customers, advocates their needs, and proposes new product offerings as necessary. The role provides leadership & guidance to the team across multiple disciplines such as technological, business, financial and team management.

Responsibilities
• Establishes a long-range strategy and near-term roadmap to drive engineering efficiency for the respective product or team, working in conjunction with other HP Engineering Divisions.
• Leads, attracts, grows, and retains engineers, engineering leaders, and technical program managers in a globally distributed organization.
• Builds, delivers and supports high-quality sets of new horizontal and vertical engineering solutions. This includes directing the analysis and design of large-scale programs and products.
• Partners effectively with functional leader counterparts to ensure ongoing alignment, solve issues, track engineering dependencies, and build solutions using other groups apps, platforms, and experience.
• Drives product execution with clarity, including helping to translate big picture capabilities to specific set of problems to solve.
• Provides overall financial direction in order to manage the development of business solutions budgets, controls and measurements to monitor progress.
• Leads analysis of the competitive environment, customers, and product metrics to determine the right set of community features to drive engagement and business goals.
• Ensures intelligent automation hub departmental infrastructure and business processes are built, implemented, well defined, and communicated.
• Leads a talented team of Engineers & Managers in the development of quality-focused, world-class software.
• Provides project management and technical oversight for the teams.

Education & Experience Recommended
• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 15+ years of job-related and/or management experience, preferably in software designing & development, software architecture, programming languages, or a related field.
