We are looking for a Data Science Engineer (m/f/d), based in Munich or Frankfurt.

The Impact You Will Have 
As a Data Science Engineer, you will play a vital role in supporting the technical development of business and client-facing solutions, contributing to the assessment of risk quality and enabling more effective exposure management. Your responsibilities will include developing user interfaces that facilitate the interpretation of underlying data for underwriting and risk engineers, ultimately enhancing the speed and effectiveness of business decision-making processes. Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

• You will be responsible for Developing new digital capabilities to support stakeholders in automation and data science, aligning with and contributing to Allianz Commercial's strategy.
• You will identify, obtain, and store required internal/external data in collaboration with internal teams and third-party providers, aiming to establish a centralized data lake from diverse sources.
• You will build, enhance, and maintain reliable and high-performing data pipelines, working closely with key business stakeholders and internal delivery teams to support various analytics solutions.
• You will collaborate closely with Business leads and Allianz Commercial stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications, ensuring solutions meet current needs and deliver business value.
• You will work with teams across CUO L to Cross-train and upskill underwriters on new solutions, data, and technology. Additionally, you will promote a "play to win" mentality through enhanced collaboration, transparent communication, and a clear focus on business value.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

• You have a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a quantitative area, specializing in Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
• You have at least 2 years of software development experience demonstrating excellent programming skills in Python, PySpark, SQL, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
• You have experience in international industrial insurance and/or Reinsurance.
• You have experience working internationally with the ability to adapt across borders.
• You possess knowledge in data model design/implementation and engineering principles such as test-driven design, automated testing, and clean coding.
• You have excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• You are a multi-tasker able to effectively utilize your resources and manage competing priorities under tight deadlines.
• You speak English fluently.
