Job Description

Legal and General Investment Management’s Data Operations team are currently looking for a new Head of Data Operations, reporting into the Global Head of Data Operations, to manage the existing team. This role will see you lead the data operations team which provides an internal service to many areas of the business around subjects such as data quality, management, processes, and risk in order to ensure that individual teams and business units are upholding newly deployed data policies and are providing and being provided with the most accurate and informative data and are receiving the necessary support to do so.

You will be running the cross functional team of 30 people, both on shore and offshore working from our London office on a hybrid basis and be instrumental in the growth of this team as demand for the internal data service from the rest of the business increases.

What you'll be doing

  • Taking accountability for ensuring the timely processing activities in line with market, regulatory and internal deadlines. Proactively working with LGIM stakeholders, Outsource Provider, and 3rd Parties to ensure activities are completed.
  • Monitoring the daily & weekly KPI / KRIs and escalate issues accordingly.
  • Managing operational risk and issues within team and outsourced provider, regularly reviewing, and identifying further opportunities for risk mitigation; ensuring all functional procedures are in line with policies and regulatory requirements and informing senior management and stakeholders.
  • Identifying continuous improvement opportunities to improve upon the service being provided.
  • Maintaining and improving upon service delivery with Legal and General Retail
  • Taking accountability for small change, collaborating with other leads to ensure alignment and consistency.
  • Collaborating with VDM/SRM in relation to service received from vendors to drive better outcomes
  • Managing, motivating, and developing employees at all levels, in a manner that is consistent with the company's policies and procedures including the Partnership Agreement, to maximize the performance of the area.
  • Striving for excellence in people management, displaying an empathic management style, leading by example, and using this to coach and support a team expected to deliver high standards.

Qualifications

  • In depth experience in data management, data operations, data management consulting within the Financial Services industry
  • Strong project management skills, with a focus on interdepartmental communication
  • Strong interpersonal skills: proven team player who can engender credibility and confidence within and outside the company
  • Effective leadership, people management, and team building
  • Results-oriented work ethic and a positive attitude
  • Coach the team in strategic, operational and project management skills
  • Build and implement Data Services aligned to our agreed data strategy.
  • Introduce ways to ensure the quality and completeness of the data services, while simultaneously delivering scalability and sustainability
  • Experience in creating structure and processes needed across a team to ensure services are delivered within control and risk parameters.
  • Experience working on long term Data Operations vision.
