AI Engineer (m/f/d)

About the Job

We’re looking for a motivated AI Engineer (m/f/d) to join one of our portfolio companies.

In your day-to-day work, you’ll leverage your expertise to design and implement AI solutions that transform how we interact with the world around us.

Join our portfolio company: A German dual-use technology company that develops unmanned ground vehicles to spearhead automation in both governmental and civilian use cases.

In this role, you’ll:

• Design, develop, and deploy offline AI solutions, focusing on computer vision, object detection, classification, and segmentation to meet project objectives and improve operational efficiency.
• Perform extensive testing and validation of AI models to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and scalability, using frameworks like PyTorch.
• Optimize existing AI systems for improved performance, considering computational resources and hardware constraints.
• Document development processes, system configurations, and algorithm performance, ensuring knowledge transfer and compliance with industry standards.

Your Profile

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, or a related field.
• Experience with C++ and ROS (Robot Operating System).
• Proven experience in AI, focusing on computer vision, object detection, object classification, and segmentation.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with deep learning frameworks, particularly PyTorch.
• Solid understanding of machine learning models (LLMs, LMMs) and their application in AI solutions.
• Experience with integrating AI solutions with hardware components and understanding of related requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a track record of making informed decisions in complex projects.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and mentor junior team members in AI development best practices.
• Experience with 3D computer vision techniques and technologies (AI and point clouds).

Please note that we are looking for support in the Munich office of our portfolio company. Eligibility to work within the EU is required as well.
