Job Description

The Business Intelligence Manager will be part of the Commercial Services Analytics team and provide business leadership, direction, decision-making, and oversight for Verra Mobility’s Commercial Services’ business intelligence and reporting needs. The BI Manager is responsible for the organizational data strategies for collection, storage, reporting and governance, as well as a multi-year roadmap for the data intelligence deliverables of the company. The position will lead a team that will deliver internal & external reports and dashboards, KPIs/Metrics and decision support systems for Verra Mobility’s commercial business units. The BI Manager must possess the technical background needed to select BI tools and to work closely with architecture and development teams, as well as the business and financial acumen necessary to solve business problems using realistic, maintainable methods.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the 5-year business intelligence strategy, roadmaps, reporting and dashboards.
  • Responsible for the development of data intelligence gathering and reporting practices on behalf of an organization.
  • Understand business goals, drivers and processes and design business intelligence and reporting solutions that solve business problems.
  • Ensure that global data is being accurately and efficiently gathered, stored and maintained by performing detailed data exploration and validation to identify trends, tendencies and anomalies.
  • Expertise in reporting & dashboarding technologies, including data warehouse design, SQL and statistics scorecards.
  • Lead multiple strategic reporting design efforts, including KPI and executive dashboards, client dashboards and reporting platforms.
  • Collaborate and monitor the work of the data warehouse & ETL team and ensure effective implementation of warehousing and architectural projects to achieve BI objectives.
  • Work closely with business leaders in identifying and interpreting business needs and responding with BI solutions.
  • Collaborate with data analysts and data scientists to prioritize and deliver internal and external reporting.
  • Develop an understanding of all global transaction processing systems and databases.
  • Assure the coordination and management across multiple business groups to source accurate, efficient and relevant data.
  • Proven ability to audit outcomes, provide data controllership and structure processes to ensure data accuracy.
  • Directly manage BI designers, developers and analysts in the delivery of dashboards, reports, KPIs, monitoring systems and client reporting platforms.
  • Assist with budgeting, planning and forecasting.
  • Develop an understanding of operational and financial processes and their impact to the performance of VM’s product portfolio.
  • Encourages and supports enterprise data sharing and collaboration.
  • Work closely with the Infrastructure teams, both internal and third party, in organizing and creating an environment that makes data and information accessible with appropriate channels of access controls; acts as an advisor in the use of data to improve performance and enterprise-wide strategy formulation.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, or MicroStrategy.

Educational Requirements

  • B.S. Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics or Mathematics required.
  • MBA with a focus on Data Analytics or Computer Science preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience in an analytic role in the financial, technology, mobility or outsourcing industries.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a Business Intelligence leadership role, managing multiple projects with increasing difficulty and complexity, and developing sophisticated reports and dashboards.
  • 2+ years’ experience in a management
  • Strong computer skills in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite; expert Excel, Access and PowerPoint skills
  • Experience in scripting with SQL, extracting large sets of data, and design of ETL flows.
  • Experience in data modeling and business intelligence toolsets.
  • Ability to solve advanced level complicated problems with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to develop and deliver advanced, professional presentations to senior management
  • A self-starter able to multi-task, exercise excellent time management, and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to articulate a position with sound logic, supporting empirical evidence, and impartiality.
  • Effectively represent the organization to a variety of both internal and external constituencies at senior levels.
  • Superior verbal, presentation and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to document information accurately.
  • Ability to demonstrate professionalism, confidence, and sincerity.
