Streamline your career by joining our team as a Strong Junior Data Scientist! We are looking for a dedicated professional with 1-3 years of commercial grounding in Data Science who is eager to contribute to Data-related projects and play a driving role within our Data Competency Center.  

This role involves guidance and mentorship from more Senior colleagues who will support you with both the learning journey and challenging tasks. Together, you will create and follow a roadmap to ensure your continuous learning and comprehensive development that matches your project and role objectives.

Job Description

  • Actively engage with the project owner and team leads to gain a clear understanding of technical requirements and expectations  
  • Convert complex business challenges into simpler, data-driven queries or hypotheses. This entails working with team members to grasp the core issues and framing questions that data analysis can answer  
  • Gather data from various sources, including databases, spreadsheets, and APIs. Begin to tackle data quality issues and format the data for analysis using basic data wrangling and cleaning techniques  
  • To explore data, use fundamental statistical methods and data visualization techniques. Identify patterns, trends, and outliers and use these insights to propose solutions or further analysis  
  • Experiment with select machine learning or statistical models under guidance to address specific business challenges. This includes understanding the basics of model choice, training models with support, and evaluating their performance with established metrics  
  • Assist in integrating models into production environments under supervision, helping to ensure that they can provide real-time insights or decisions. Learn about model deployment, performance monitoring, and maintenance  
  • Develop the ability to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders straightforwardly and concisely  
  • Actively seek out new knowledge in Data Science through online courses, webinars, and reading articles. Experiment with latest tools and techniques under supervision to broaden your skill set  
  • Offer insights and share learnings about data analysis techniques and tools with the team. Engage in discussions about improving analytical skills, standards, and processes within the team 

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of commercial experience in Data Science 
  • Familiarity with and good understanding of machine learning algorithms, such as linear regression, clustering, classification, and recommendation systems 
  • Skill in creating clear, concise, and compelling visualizations using tools like ggplot2, Matplotlib, Plotly, Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik 
  • A basic understanding of data analysis principles, including ETL processes, data warehousing, and handling unstructured data 
  • Knowledge of deep learning fundamentals, including concepts such as activation functions, backpropagation, convolutional neural networks (CNNs), Transformers, transfer learning, and generative models 
  • Ability to assist in evaluating and selecting suitable deep learning models for specific tasks, including understanding model performance metrics, recognizing potential biases, and comparing different model architectures 
  • Confident Intermediate level of English

  • Databricks expertise 
  • Commercial expertise with BI tools
