About our Team

Our team is responsible for the end-to-end quality assurance of data science & life science solutions. Our team helps biologists, chemists and pharma customers. Our team tests novel implementations and improvements for data workflows into databases, data lakes and data services. We are a very diverse team, engaged and inclusive, working in an agile way.  

About the Role

You will be a key part of our agile team to support all activities around data enrichment, maintenance and software testing. You will create test automations to ensure correct data transformations and enrichment strategies for big data sets. You will work closely together with members of various teams, including software development, product management and subject matter experts.

Responsibilities

  • Testing software in an end-to-end workflow.
  • Provide test automation and increase test coverage for reviewing the quality of large biological and chemistry data sources  
  • Verifying enriched content in a database located in the cloud manually and automatically
  • Testing search capabilities and reviewing customer experience with the database

Requirements

  • Have a Master or PhD level in Bioinformatics, Cheminformatics, Chemistry or closely related subjects
  • Have 4-6 years working experience or excellent credentials 
  • Able to understands quality assurance standards and can apply existing practices to test software and databases
  • Have profound knowledge in working with big chemistry or biological data sets & databases
  • Have very good programming skills (e.g., Python) and knowledge of automation with Jenkins
  • Have good knowledge of dashboards visualizations (e.g., Kibana)
  • Have good understanding of data formats (e.g., XML, JSON, Parquet) and data workflows
  • Have knowledge of test case documentation and bug tracking software (e.g., Confluence, JIRA) is a plus
  • Knowledge of current software development methodologies (e.g. Scrum) is a plus
  • Be a natural communicator with an ability to build relationships with cross-functional teams
