About the role:

As a Data Engineer, you will be an integral part of a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Scrum Masters, Data Analysts, and Data Stewards, working collaboratively to deliver data-focused solutions. Your primary responsibility within the Data team will be to design and construct advanced data pipelines capable of efficiently collecting, processing, transforming, and managing large volumes of data with diverse characteristics. This includes implementing necessary data quality controls, metadata management, and monitoring mechanisms to ensure an end-to-end data supply chain. Your key tasks will involve participating in sprint planning, developing and executing data pipelines, profiling and validating data, integrating new data into existing analytical datasets, and conducting system tests.

 

About you:

  • University degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in data engineering, encompassing data modeling, data integration, and data quality.
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies and DevOps/DataOps.
  • Experience in Requirements Engineering, Solution Architecture, Design, Development, and Deployment.
  • Proficient in integrating data into analytical platforms.
  • Familiarity with ingestion technologies used by cloud platforms such as Azure AWS and specific tools like Talend.
  • Expertise in data profiling, source-target mappings, ELT development, SQL optimization, testing, and implementation.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and other data manipulation languages, as well as native cloud database technologies.
  • Track record of implementing databases, data access middleware, and high-volume processing involving large data stores.
  • Familiarity with structured and unstructured data.

About the pay and benefits

  • Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the Portuguese base pay reasonably expected for this role is 56 000€ to 70 000€, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience.
