About the RoleThe On-chain Data Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting large sets of data related to cryptocurrency transactions. This role involves tracing digital wallets, understanding the flow of cryptocurrencies, and providing accurate attribution to support the organization's objectives in compliance, security, and investigative efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze transaction data from various blockchain networks to trace the flow of funds and identify patterns.
  • Wallet Tracing: Use advanced analytical tools to trace digital wallets and understand their interactions and connections within the blockchain ecosystem.
  • Attribution: Provide accurate attribution of digital assets to individuals, entities, or activities by analyzing transaction patterns, wallet addresses, and other digital footprints.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations that summarize findings, provide insights, and support decision-making processes.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Monitor transactions for suspicious activities and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations related to cryptocurrency transactions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cybersecurity teams, legal departments, and external agencies to share findings and collaborate on investigations.
  • Tool Development: Contribute to the development and refinement of in-house analytical tools and methodologies to enhance investigative capabilities.
  • Market Analysis: Keep up to date with the latest trends, technologies, and regulatory changes in the cryptocurrency market to inform analysis and strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience in data analysis, preferably with a focus on cryptocurrencies or blockchain technology.
  • Strong understanding of blockchain networks, cryptocurrency transactions, and digital wallets.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred

  • Experience with forensic analysis tools and techniques specific to cryptocurrency investigations.
  • Familiarity with machine learning algorithms and their application to data analysis.
  • Certification in financial crime, fraud analysis, or a related field.
