Job Description Summary

The Research Analyst will use data to enhance and innovate processes, develop tools, methodologies, and research approaches to monitor and improve individual risk selection, as well as collaborate with functional groups on specific data-driven initiatives.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Design and lead research studies using data driven assessment techniques.
  • Lead project teams that are developing or modifying highly complex information solutions.
  • Organize disparate data for analysis and create tools for monitoring.
  • Use project management skills to initiate, plan, execute and control resources and timeframes.
  • Conduct research and analysis to quantify business opportunities and develop formal recommendations to management.
  • Analyze, understand, and document user needs to ensure accurate fulfillment of user story requests from internal business customers
  • Prepare “as is” and “current state” documentation in written and graphical form (flows).
  • Conduct user interviews and training sessions
  • Mentor teammates on monitoring and analytic tools and methods.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in research, biological science, analytics or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Five years of research/analytics experience in life sciences, pharmacology, or risk related to insurance, banking or financial institutions
  • Ability to express ideas and communicate/document research findings
  • Ability to collaborate and keep an open mind in a highly analytical and innovative work environment
  • Keen observation and systematic thinking skills to provide objective and logical conclusions to specified hypothesis
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel, including Office data connections and pivot tables
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field
  • Background in insurance company operations, particularly in underwriting or risk
  • Working knowledge of systems methodology, project management, quality assurance and testing methodologies
  • Working knowledge of graphical user interfaces, relational database management systems and data storage
  • Project management experience
  • Experience with Power BI
  • Experience with Python
  • Experience with MSBI tools, including SSRS, SSIS, and/or SSAS

Working Conditions

  • Office environment or work remote from home
  • Occasional travel for vendor and team meetings

Compensation 

**Please note that the compensation information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position only and is provided pursuant to applicable pay transparency and compensation posting laws. It is estimated based on what a successful candidate might be paid in certain Company locations.** 

 

The Salary for this position generally ranges between $87-108K. This range is an estimate, based on potential qualifications and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.  

 

Additionally, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at Company discretion.
