The Quality function promotes quality and compliance through the product lifecycle within the wider manufacturing and production operations at GSK’s Ware Manufacturing Site.  This entails monitoring all quality related systems, improvement procedures and documentation (including analytical data and information), ensuring that products released have been manufactured, packaged and distributed according to all Regulatory and cGMP requirements (including appropriate certification for EU markets).

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Digital & Improvement Quality Lead, the Quality Data Manager provides management and data-expertise to a team who in turn manage and maintain LIMS and Quality SAP data for the site.  The team also creates and maintains batch certificate templates and provides first line support for LIMS users and batch certificate creators across the site.

This role has circa 5 direct reports (including interim staff).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of data analysts to create, update and verify LIMS data, assess and request the update of corresponding SAP data. The team is also responsible for creating and maintaining batch certificate templates and providing first line support for LIMS users and batch certificate generators.
  • Leadership specifically entails scheduling work, monitoring performance, problem solving and supporting development of the team.
  • Ensure team delivers on updates of data in line with customer requirements to meet the site’s change, launch and new product requirements. Ensure workload allocation is in alignment with demand and the site’s strategic priorities.
  • Drive improvement of processes within the team through use of GPS Continuous Improvement Framework and embed improvement culture within the team
  • Own SOPs and processes used within the team and ensure procedures are in use and accurate Approve data changes.

About You:

As this role is multi-faceted and includes liaising with a wide variety of on-site production and operations teams, you will be a self-motivated person who has experience of working in quality and/or manufacturing at a complex manufacturing site.  You will be resilient and calm under pressure, with strong people skills and a proven ability to influence people to achieve and drive performance.  You will have a strong continuous improvement mindset.  Effective written and verbal communication and excellent interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to organise and prioritise workload are considered essential skills.

This role requires a high-degree of technical expertise.  We are interested in hearing from applicants who have knowledge / experience in SAP and LIMS.

About Ware Manufacturing Site:

Medicines at Ware are presented as either Respiratory devices or in Oral Solid Dose form. The site holds a unique position in our network as the only site responsible for launching the company’s pipeline of new medicines in these dose forms.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BSc in Scientific, Technical or Engineering discipline or equivalent experience (ideally gained working in a Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Facility or other highly regulated-industry).
  • Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) requirements.
  • Knowledge and application of the principle of the Quality Management Systems (QMS).
