What you will be doing

 

• Serves as a key resource for Business Intelligence team in interpreting data and information; communicates results to team members 

• Operates as a contact between the team and data/ IT/ governance teams to facilitate and support the delivery of business intelligence solutions 

• Works closely with operations/ finance/ technical teams, the broader Business Excellence department, and wider business and function colleagues

• Facilitates effective working relationship between BI and Analytical Support team 

• Utilizes business intelligence tools across all departments and functional areas providing detailed analysis, insight, and reporting 

• Assesses analytics and reporting needs; can recommend, in time and with support, enhanced solutions and specifications for business intelligence tools 

• Contributes to prioritising different needs across business areas to support deployment strategies and achieve business goals 

• Supports development of protocols to extract data in a standardized process from a variety of data sources 

• Helps to define, track, and remediate data quality and data management standards 

What your background should look like 

• Ability to effectively participate in cross-functional problem solving teams 

• Planning, analytical, and conceptual skills to evaluate business problems and identify and apply appropriate solutions with support. Some exposure to best practice 

• Business acumen 

• Some experience of managing small projects 

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel

• Strong analytic mindset and intellectual curiosity is essential

Desirable:

• Experience of relational databases (e.g. Microsoft SQL Server or Access) and data management

• Experience with object oriented programming (e.g. VBA, Python)  

• Experience with Alteryx Designer

• Experience with statistical or maths packages (e.g. R, Stata, SPSS)

• Experience with other coding language or BI tools desirable 

• Internship or c.6months work experience in a professional setting an advantage. Especially experience with developing analytic solutions or utilising complex data (e.g. reporting, visualisation, modelling, coding) 

• Ideally some training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, or computer science generally obtained through completion of a three/four-year Bachelor’s Degree program
