Description

Great People Work Here.

Transforming WHAT we do and HOW we do it.

We are embarking on a huge program of global business transformation enabled by the implementation of a new global technology solution.  The delivery and embedding of this technology solution across our highly successful and highly de-centralized business will change the way we work forever, enabling greater data insight, simplification of processes and ways of working and creating greater collaboration across the business.
The role of the Master Data Architect is to is to protect the Global TwO Master data model by ensuring consistency of data definitions and usage across the entire data landscape, from data generation or collection, core application, downstream systems through to reporting. This will be achieved via the by the introduction of architecture diagrams, data flows and detailed data object definitions along with defined ownership, with the implementation of a robust change control process across these assets. The Architect will then work in collaboration with the MDG team to ensure that the MDG process and tools reflect the strict requirements of the data model, and MDM team to ensure the data is maintained accordingly. During the introduction of new systems into the TwO landscape, the Architect will ensure that there is consistency between the incoming data model with existing global model with respect data object and field definitions, data types and usage.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business leaders to understand data needs and align data strategies with organizational goals.
  • Develop and maintain a data architecture roadmap that outlines the evolution of data systems and technologies.
  • Advise on data model if a new technology is being introduced where there is likely to be data integration or duplication of an existing data object (eg a new system that has customers or materials). For this new system, ensure the way that each field is used / defined is the same as per existing systems.
  • Ensure all data objects have a data object definition, which includes data object overview and a list of fields required for that object, along with technical, functional, and business rules for each field (for each system and BU)
  • Ensure definitions for field names and specific predefines values (e.g. hierarchies, dropdown list values) are aligned across all systems.
  • For fields where data standards exist (e.g. for barcodes, GDSN) ensure they are implemented in all systems.
  • Design and create data models that represent the organization's data structure and relationships, utilising tools such as ERD (Entity-Relationship Diagrams) to visualize and document data models.
  • Develop and enforce data standards, naming conventions, and data governance policies.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to data management and privacy.
  • Document data architecture components, including data models, schemas, and data flow diagrams.
  • Collaboration with the integration architect to review integration specs to ensure rules and governance are applied to source systems to ensure the data (data quality, data types, or schema/field usage) does not change and compromise the interface to downstream systems.
  • Create end-to-end data flow diagrams illustrating how data flows from creation/collection to core ERP or other core systems, then all downstream systems (and possible reports).
