The Opportunity
We are seeking a talented and experienced individual to join the Analytics & Business Intelligence (ABI) team as a full stack Data Architect. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing end-to-end data solutions that meet our organization's needs. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable, efficient, and maintainable data architectures. As a full stack Data Architect, you will also be involved in hands-on engineering tasks, including data modelling, ETL development, and data pipeline orchestration. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both data architecture and engineering, with a passion for building innovative data solutions.

ANZ Worldline is part of the global Worldline organisation and the successful candidate will work closely, and collaborate, with European peers in the broader Worldline data organisation. This will provide an opportunity to drive the implementation of global practices and influence the standards and methodologies more globally.

Day-to-day responsibilities
•    Design, develop, and implement scalable data architectures that support business needs.
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
•    Develop and maintain reusable metadata driven data pipelines for ETL processes, data integration, and data transformation.
•    Perform data modelling (dimensional and tabular), database design, and optimization to ensure data quality and performance.
•    Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to improve data architecture and engineering practices.
•    Establish and maintain trusted relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation and global business units.
•    Develop and own the Data Governance Framework and ensure that it is effectively deployed across the data environment.
•    Develop and own the Data Quality Framework and ensure that it is effectively deployed across the data environment.
•    Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
•    Keep abreast of industry good practices and trends, including tools and processes, in so far as it relates to data architecture, data engineering, data science and data analysis.
•    Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the payments industry and ANZ Worldline business, systems, services and products.
•    Work closely with the ABI Delivery Manager to ensure all stakeholder requirements are delivered in a timely manner, including project, ad-hoc and business-as-usual activities.

 

What we are looking for
•    10+ years within a payments or technology driven organisation.
•    10+ years developing datalake, data warehousing and lakehouse solutions.
•    Experience with DataOps, Agile or DevOps delivery, quality practices, techniques and tools.
•    Extensive experience with data loading patterns and managing large scale datasets.
•    In depth experience in data management strategies and data lifecycle design and implementation.
•    Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
•    Experience in Databricks machine learning environment and MLOps design and implementation.
•    Preferably experience in a merchant acquiring or adjacent payments organisation.

•    Excellent database, ETL and data warehousing skills.
•    Exceptional programming skills, including Python and SQL..
•    A high standard of knowledge and skills in existing and emerging data solutions and tools, including Azure, Databricks, Fabric and Power BI.
•    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
•    Outsatanding quality assurance skills.
•    Exceptional planning and organizational skills., plus commercial awareness and industry knowledge.
•    Proficiency in Pyspark and/or scala.
•    Advanced knowledge of Office products, including PowerPoint and Excel.
•    Results driven and ability to work under pressure.
•    Flexible mindset with the ability to multi-task and work in an international environment.

Education
•    Bachelors Degree (Business Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or similar)
