Job Description

Job Title: Data Analyst (GIS) 

Location: Hybrid working (Newark office) 

Role description:

Arcadis, a global leader in client-focused professional services, invites skilled professionals to join our Newark office. As part of our GIS (Geographic Information Systems) business, you will play a pivotal role in our Drone and Mobile Mapping systems team. This innovative technology combines high-resolution digital imagery and LiDAR with inertial positioning, empowering our clients to conduct surveys and inspections globally.

  • Work within our Digital Asset Management division, providing technical advisory support to transportation, infrastructure & many other industries globally
  • Process, manipulate, and handle data, gaining proficiency in a variety of software packages
  • Develop technical skills in Microsoft and Adobe applications
  • Engage in collaborative projects with large organisations such as National Highways and Transport Scotland
  • Gain first-hand practical experience in cutting-edge geospatial technologies
  • Work in a forward-thinking, proactive, and diverse environment that supports the development of problem-solving abilities
  • Collaborate with a team of technical professionals on applied research and a wide range of geospatial analysis tasks

What you will be doing:

Data Processing:

  • Process imagery and/or LiDAR from vehicle and drone platforms into a format compatible with desktop software

Asset Inventory Updates:

  • Extract, assure and update physical asset inventories taken from vehicle and drone imagery and/or LiDAR

Spatial and Data Analytics:

  • Utilise various software platforms to perform queries and analysis

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Passion for technology and its impact on sustainable transportation and infrastructure
  • Eagerness to contribute to the advancement of geospatial data analysis
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to engage in a dynamic and challenging work environment
  • Collaborator, thriving in both individual and team settings
  • Good knowledge of ArcMap ( Desirable)
  • Experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) is desirable
  • Proficient in Microsoft packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Bachelor or Masters' Degree in Geomatics/GIS, Data Analytics, or related discipline (desirable not essential) or minimum college or equivalent qualifications
  • Previous experience in infrastructure asset management (advantageous, but not essential)
