Job Description:

Invent new computing languages, tools, and methods to solve complex computing problems. Design machine learning mechanisms capable of estimating cost-to-go in the configuration space, based on Higher Order Function Networks. Responsible for the company's trajectory-generation for high dimensional manipulators, based on various approaches, such as sampling-based planning, search-based planning, and deep neural networks. Test and verify planning approaches with high dimensional manipulator systems. Build prototype robots for algorithm verification. Research camera and robot calibration, and system identification for company's low-cost robotics systems. Design and implement various neural network architectures for pose estimation and control of low-cost manipulators, such as Fully Connected Networks, Long Short-Term Networks, and lD Convolution Networks based on trajectory history. Implement forward and inverse kinematics, based on computing the Jacobians of various high-dimensional manipulator poses and incorporate them in the company's products. Generate the best grasp pose and trajectories based on reachability for Pixel to Plan ("PtP") and Pixel to Grasp ("PtG") projects. Responsible for the company's trajectory planning in robotic manipulation software architecture.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or a foreign equivalent, and two (2) years of experience with motion planning algorithms, including potential functions, A* and its variants, RRTs and their variants, sensor based planning, and robot programming, including hardware interfaces. Must also have experience utilizing the following skills: spatial transformations, trajectory generation, control of robot manipulators, C++, Python, and Pytorch. Will accept a Ph.D. and one (1) year of the required experience and the skills set forth above. Research conducted during Ph.D. can be considered for experience and/or skills.

This position requires the incumbent to travel for work 10% of the time.

Physical Requirements

This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms.
