Details of the role and how it fits into the team

You will be joining the ‘Business Intelligence Unit (BIU),’ a specialised team with Deutsche Bank’s Anti-Financial Crime division, which provides in-depth research and due diligence on ‘sensitive clients’ to the Bank’s businesses and committees globally, supporting the bank to make informed decisions about legal, financial, regulatory or reputational risks presented by sensitive clients. Research is based upon collation and analysis of open-source intelligence by BIU’s centralised team of multilingual researchers and analysts.

Your key responsibilities

Provide regional expertise as part of a global Business Intelligence Unit with focus on the assessment and ongoing monitoring of ‘sensitive clients’.  The role will be required to:

  • Support Regional Head of Business Intelligence Unit Europe by providing timely and accurate reporting and advice, including Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), specific sectoral reviews and ad hoc political risk analysis.

  • Produce demonstrably well-researched reports, including clear indications of sources used by means of detailed attribution and present to senior DB stakeholders

  • Act as a key SME on research in lower disclosure European jurisdictions, including Cyprus, Switzerland, Luxembourg and others, present your expertise at business and AFC forums

  • Manage and expand BIU’s global OSINT database, coordinate this with DB’s other financial crime intelligence teams and provide relevant training to wider BIU team

  • Mentor junior members of BIU Europe

Your skills and experiences

  • Will be of graduate calibre with at least 7 year-experience in producing due diligence reports on relevant subjects in Europe, Turkey and Israel and have relevant language skills with at least one additional European language in addition to excellent command of English (required) and German (optional, but good to have)

  • Have an extensive knowledge of a wide range of open-source intelligence sources and third-party due diligence providers

  • Must be robust, credible, with an ability to grasp complex issues quickly and with excellent analytical, report writing and presentation skills

  • Will be able to condense complex and disparate open-source reporting into clear analysis for international audience.
