Job Overview
We have a newly created opportunity for an IT Analyst, Master Data Management to join our organization as a key member of our Corporate IT team. The IT Analyst, Master Data Management will play a critical role in defining, coordinating, implementing, and technically enabling MDM for data across various systems relevant to Komatsu North America Region and Global Mining. This role will involve collaborating with cross-functional business and IT teams to define MDM requirements, implement data governance policies and procedures, and ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of master data across the organization. This individual will work closely with senior management to drive MDM best practices, provide technical expertise, and support the implementation and ongoing management of MDM solutions. Additionally, this individual will provide leadership, guidance, and support for master data management activities within the data team for Komatsu Corporate IT.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, define, and document master data requirements and business rules for MDM implementation.
- Design and develop data models, data mappings, and data integration processes to support the accurate and efficient management of master data across various systems and applications.
- Coordinate and facilitate data cleansing, data quality assessment, and data standardization activities to ensure the integrity and consistency of master data.
- Provide technical guidance and support for the implementation and configuration of an MDM tool and solution, working closely with IT teams and vendors.
- Implement and maintain data governance policies, procedures, and workflows related to master data management, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and implement data stewardship roles, responsibilities, and processes, fostering data ownership and accountability within the organization.
- Develop and maintain documentation, including data dictionaries, data models, and data flow diagrams, to support the effective management and use of master data.
- Monitor and analyze master data quality metrics, identifying trends and issues, and implementing corrective actions to improve data quality.
- Provide training and support to business users on master data management processes, tools, and best practices, to ensure effective use and adoption of MDM solutions.
- Participate in the evaluation and selection of MDM tools and technologies, conducting research and analysis to support informed decision-making.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in data governance, data management, data compliance or related role, preferably in product based heavy machinery industry.
- Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with MDM tools and technologies, such as Informatica MDM, Profisee, SAP MDG,Tibco, Stibo, Stibo, IBM InfoSphere, or similar platforms.
- Relevant certifications in data management and governance (e.g., CDMP, DGSP) and knowledge of Microsoft Azure services are a plus.
- Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders.
- Experience and knowledge of data warehousing, data engineering, data integration, data manipulation, data analysis, ETL processes, BI concepts and proficiency in SQL, python, and/or pyspark are a plus.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, to create dashboards and reports that provide insights into master data quality and usage.
- Must be able to apply the seven principles of the KOMATSU Way to their everyday work activities where applicable
- Proven ability to create and build positive and productive relationships internally with employees and externally with clients and stakeholders
- Excellent written, oral communication, project management and presentation skills, and the ability to present complex data and statistics in a simple and clear way
