Job Description

Legal and General Mortgage Services are hiring for a Data Engineer to work within the performance reporting function which provides invaluable insight to internal and external stakeholders around lending performance.

This role would see you join an already established team to work on the reporting dashboard suite which is shared with third party lenders to provide information around post valuation queries, complaints, compensation rates and many other areas which would impact overall lending.

You will be working internally with the business to support workflow, change and business processes aimed to increase efficiency as well as upholding and ensuring data quality and maintenance of data structures, while using tools such as power BI to build dashboards and power automate to maintain and create data pipelines.

What you’ll be doing

  • Building large, complex data systems and pipelines to enable the production of accurate and timely management information in accordance with business and individual stakeholder requirements.
  • Identifying, designing, and implementing internal process improvements, automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, and redesigning data infrastructure for greater scalability
  • Performing route cause analysis on internal data and processes to answer specific business questions and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Exploring ways to enhance data quality and reliability and building accessible data platforms for analysis.
  • Producing ad hoc analysis including observing recent trends to identify opportunities and making recommendations to improve business profitability.
  • Providing data analysis for ad hoc projects ensuring that outcomes are delivered on time and in compliance with project requirements.
  • Offering advice and guidance to colleagues including where required, providing coaching and development of others such that understanding of business data is developed and deployed throughout the organisation.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for

  • Database management related qualification (MCSA,MCSE etc) is desirable. Any other IT qualifications are also beneficial.
  • SQL Server or relational database concept understanding
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Microsoft Power BI
  • Data warehouse knowledge desirable
  • Ability to convert customer requirements into desired outcomes.
  • Hands-on experience of SQL Server or equivalent databases, stored procedures, views and SQL queries.
