Machine Learning Engineer Intern

At Mailchimp, our internship program focuses on giving our interns opportunities to get hands-on experience and contribute to real-world business projects alongside our full-time peeps. Over the years, we've had the privilege to bring on some of the brightest, most talented students from around the world to help grow our brand. Mailchimp designed our 12 week paid internship program to help students grow their skillset, create lasting connections, and do meaningful work. Along with helping our interns grow professionally, we're also committed to their personal growth and provide various soft skill classes while also hosting fun events along the way!

Our program is open to students enrolled in undergraduate, graduate, bootcamp, and online courses - all candidates must be enrolled through the duration of the program.

This role is based in Georgia and any candidates who accept an offer for this position is expected to reside in the state of Georgia throughout the duration of the internship.

Start Dates: May 16th & June 6th

We are a team of software developers and system engineers who develop tools to support data science development here at Mailchimp.

We’re looking for a candidate who has a passion for automation and building tools that are used to build products more efficiently. If you’re interested in the tools that make data science work, this internship is for you! 

What you’ll do:

• Build cloud automation solutions for data science challenges 
• Learn how engineering supports data science development
• Fix a bug or two

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

• Experience with and source control (git)
• A basic understanding of the Continuous Integration processes and why it is important in software development.
• An understanding of virtualization and containerization (VM’s, Docker)
• Basic knowledge of public cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS.
• Experience leveraging public API’s for developing software tools.
• Basic coding experience with a common scripting language such as Python or Shell scripting.
• Experience with other languages such as Go, JavaScript, etc. also a plus
