We’re looking for a Data Scientist to join the Airbnb.org team. You will lead the development of analytical models, reporting, and insights to amplify the reach and performance of Airbnb.org’s mission. 

Responsibilities

  • Defining key metrics (internal goals & public facing metrics)
  • Creating business critical dashboards
  • Investigating challenging questions around Airbnb.org’s users’ behavior 
  • Researching and compiling external data sources to inform business decisions
  • Forecast global need for housing across a variety of causes (disaster response, refugee resettlement, etc.)
  • Designing experiments in partnership with our product team
  • Informing the public narrative of our work through data and visualizations

Qualifications

  • 5+ years analytics experience (data analysis and visualization) 
  • Fluency in the core toolkit of Data Science:
    • Implementing visualizations, dashboards, and reports
    • Advanced SQL/Hive
    • Airflow or similar job-scheduler tools
    • Descriptive and predictive modeling
    • R/Python (proficient or willing to learn)
  • Experience with statistical analysis, modeling, and building data pipelines
  • Ability to translate quantitative data into actionable recommendations and communicate to business partners through strong written and verbal communication
  • Project management experience, with proven ability to succeed in both collaborative and independent work environments
  • High level of independence and autonomy
