The roleThe Autonomous Vehicle (AV) Data Analyst will be responsible for processing, interpreting, and displaying operational and system performance data. This will need to communicate cross-functionally to develop and coordinate the development and implementation of the tools and systems required to intake data, process it, and output usable reports to communicate the performance of the Outrider System to the broader organization quickly and accurately, both from trucks testing at Outrider's test site and customer sites. 
This position plays an essential role in helping deliver a safety-critical system for industrial automation. The opportunity offers a very talented, self-starting engineer the chance to help develop a market-defining enterprise product that combines autonomous vehicle technology with a software-as-a-service (SaaS) business model.
The ideal candidate will embrace our goal to drive zero-emission, self-driving vehicle adoption, and help us realize our potential to define, build, and lead a new, category of robotic automation for the enterprise.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Drive and advise the Engineering teams on how to measure system performance and operational performance by developing the right metrics for internal teams and external customers 
  • Develop robust and intuitive data analysis scripts and visualization tools that allow internal team members to quickly access the metrics on system and operational performance 
  • Work with the team to understand and prioritize analytics and metrics that help drive toward a product that meets all customer, business, and technical expectations

Required qualifications

  • 1 or more years' experience in data analytics, preferably in a robotics, autonomous vehicle, or other automotive/aerospace field
  • Proven capability in end-end data analytics identifying trends and metrics within complex systems, software or robotics
  • Experience with the software development life cycle, modern software/hardware/system testing methods, and continuous integration
  • BS or MS in Engineering or Computer Science or a similar discipline
  • Demonstrated experience with analyzing large data sets and deriving key metrics
  • Demonstrated proficiency in SQL
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, curious mindset
  • Sterling references

Ideal qualifications

  • Experience with autonomous trucks or other automated distribution yard products
  • Experience with Athena, AWS tools (such as Glue)
  • Experience with data analysis languages such as Python, R or Julia
  • Comfortable with Linux and command-line interface

Compensation & benefits

  • Salary range of $70,000 - 85,000.   For benefits, check this out!
