Data Scientist (Fraud)

Like a lot of technology companies, we are mostly working remotely at Starling and we think we will be for a while to come. We’re open to applications from across the UK but our preference is that you’re located within a commutable distance to either our London or Cardiff office, so that when we’re able to see each other and collaborate in person again, we’re ready to go!

Requirements

What we would like from you....

• Degree in STEM (Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, Economics)
• Excellent skills in SQL
• Experience working with Python applications.
• Demonstrable experience deploying machine learning solutions in a production environment.
• Knowledge of AWS and Docker a plus.
• Experience working with data from fraud or credit bureaus is highly desirable
• Strong data visualization and communication skills essential.

What will you be doing?

• You will be part of a team delivering data driven solutions and insights to improve the speed, efficiency, and quality of decision-making.
• Work proactively with technical and non-technical teams to deliver insights to support the wider business
• Build, test and deploy models which will improve and/or automate decision making.
• Provide insightful analytics to the business to assist with decision making
• Engage with Engineering teams to ensure we capture data points that are relevant and useful for insights and modelling
