The ideal candidate will be an innovative problem solver – someone who enjoys designing and implementing studies to answer challenging questions.

What you'll do:

    • Develop quantitative metrics to assess passenger experience and ride comfort in trials
    • Design and implement human subject studies to measure ride comfort experience
    • Coordinate data collection efforts from human passengers, human-driven vehicles, and autonomous vehicles
    • Assist in translating learnings into control strategies within the Rulebooks framework
    • Engage internal and external partners to conduct studies and use the findings to improve our autonomous vehicle systems 

What you'll bring:

    • Graduate degree in Statistics, Data Science, Psychology, Control Theory, Engineering or a related field
    • Experience conducting, designing, and/or analyzing human subject studies
    • Deep knowledge of statistical and data science methods
    • Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate research across multi disciplinary teams
    • Great attention to detail and ability to work independently
    • A collaborative work attitude and commitment to high quality work products

Bonus points for having experience with

    • Familiarity with the autonomous vehicle industry
    • Experience with vehicle control systems
    • Hands-on experience with machine learning methods
