Data Scientist II

TripAdvisor is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to work on our Viator brand, home to over 300K bookable experiences worldwide. This is a great opportunity to make your mark on a growing brand in the Tripadvisor family as we plan our course ahead and navigate the surge in travel with the continued recovery from Covid-19.

In this role, you will solve Viator's most complicated problems. Your work will have a direct impact on our traveler’s experience and on our business operations and will have high exposure to senior management.

• Own the algorithms that power Viator's relationships with our customers

• Balances time between long-term projects and real-time firefighting

• Provides regular management-level reports synthesized from numerous sources and focused on measurable impacts

What you will be doing

• Focus on driving loyal Viator customers through relevant messaging, content, recommendations, and incentives

• Build quick solutions to solve immediate business challenges with the opportunity to iterate when you demonstrate value

• Be creative and efficient in building models (find the simplest logic that solves most of the problem)

• Lead data science projects from concept to implementation: explore data, build and productize models & coordinate model deployment and integration into the business

• Work with other teams to review project specifications and drive project work

• Work with other teams to develop new, or enhance existing, products and opportunities

What You Already Have

• An interest in leveraging data to make a measurable impact on business performance

• 2+ years’ in an analytical role

• Bachelor's degree in quantitative field; Master's degree a plus

• Expert in SQL; Python a plus

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences of various backgrounds, levels and function
