The Machine Learning platform team owns and maintains the infrastructure and the strategy for the platform, on top of which machine learning is done at Spotify. As a member of our ML platform team, you will be working with a multi-functional team of engineers, product managers, researchers, designers, and data scientists to craft the ML practitioner experience across Spotify. You will help build products that enable teams to apply Machine Learning to initiatives that connect creators on Spotify’s platform (music, podcasts, and more) to the rapidly growing global Spotify user base.

What you'll do:

  • Contribute to Klio (our open-source Python audio processing framework) and an ecosystem of tools that enables audio practitioners (e.g., researchers, ML engineers, Data engineers) to transform and extract insights from audio & binary files using machine learning and signal processing.
  • Collaborate with audio practitioners to deliver general-purpose tools, resources, and industry best practices that empower them to create innovative solutions to problems unique to their use case.
  • Deliver scalable, maintainable, fault-tolerant software.

Who you are:

  • You have extensive experience writing Python. Familiarity with Java or Scala is a plus.
  • You have industry experience building audio and/or machine learning systems and are familiar with many popular Python libraries and frameworks in the domain.
  • Knowledgeable about data management concepts and have worked with one or more data processing frameworks like Apache Beam, Spark, Flink, and in a cloud environment, like GCP, AWS.
  • You are passionate about code quality, continuous delivery, testing, reliability, and observability.
  • You have written libraries or tools used by other engineers or researchers.
  • Have a preference for participating in end-to-end product development lifecycle: user research, product discovery, coding, testing, deployment, monitoring, and user feedback.
  • Value team success over personal success.
