Data Engineer

Job Mission

The Data Engineer is responsible for the design, development, implementation and support of reports and Dashboards as well as the development of ETL processes concerning reporting needs. The Data Engineer will be working in cross functional teams covering expertise of various project tasks like project management, Business analysis and data analysis.

Main Accountabilities

• Designs and builds dashboards in Power BI

• Enhances and redesigns existing reports from existing report formats like excel and SSRS, to storytelling dashboards assisting in the transformation strategy of the firm

• Designs and builds ad hoc reports and data exports using SQL queries and/or code in python

• Cooperates closely with the data custodians and data modelers in developing data sets specifically for reporting purposes either with SQL or Python code

Requirements

Education, Skills and Experience

• BSc degree in Computer Science or similar. MSc will be considered as an asset
• Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in developing dashboards with PowerBI and ETL processes with SQL, SSIS, Python and cloud platforms
• Previous experience in Python and Spark will be considered as a strong asset
• Knowledge and experience of testing practices and code versioning  (test driven development)

• Knowledge and experience of task management using tools like JIRA
