The Role
Veeva Link is a pillar in the Veeva system landscape that envisions "Connecting life sciences and key people to improve research and care."Our product offers real-time academics, social, and medical data to build comprehensive profiles. These profiles help our life-science industry partners find the right experts to accelerate the development and the adoption of new therapeutics. We accelerate clinical trials and equitable care. We are proud that our work helps patients to get their most urgent care sooner. 
Your ML work in the Veeva data product team will focus on deduplicating/linking different data sources, especially disambiguating persons. Our ML models are trained by data captured by a massive group of over 1000 curators. ML models complement the curational pipeline and scale our solutions to different regions, languages, and therapeutics areas.

What You'll Do

  • Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, product-, and operation-teams to improve data quality and coverage by employing ML and AI techniques
  • Technical lead for ML-Ops and experiment management systems
  • Develop software and infrastructure for link data product team by a data-driven approach
  • Collaborate with data quality teams to build data annotation/evaluation pipelines, monitoring, and dashboards
  • Build fully automated, scalable, cost-effective, and fault-tolerant solutions in AWS to process billions of records
  • Use ML, NLP, NER, entity disambiguation, and other statistical models to classify and link data

Requirements

  • Professional in ML Operationalization
  • 2+ years of experience as a Machine Learning Engineer or relevant jobs.
  • 4+ years of experience in professional software development
  • 2+ years of experience in cloud development in AWS
  • Solid programming skills ­in Python
  • Great skills in Data Engineering and big data technologies such as Spark
  • Mastery with data pipelines and specially ML-driven streaming 
  • Up-to-Date knowledge of latest ML innovations and frameworks
  • Strong analytical skills and data curiosity
  • Good English and strong communication skills

Nice to Have

  • Leadership skills and a solid network to help in hiring and growing the team
  • Experience in life/health science industry, notably pharma
  • Experience in containerization, Kubernetes and relevant distributed computing for training and inference
  • Solid programming skills ­in Java, C# or similar languages 
  • Experience with NoSQL databases, especially MongoDB
  • Familiarity with architectural choices, particularly for ML systems
  • Experience in deep learning frameworks, especially PyTorch or TensorFlow
  • Familiarity with model registry solutions such as MLflow
