As a Data Science Intern you will be responsible for analyzing data, interpreting results, training models, and expanding Yext’s algorithmic product features. Collecting data using SQL and Python, you will train models to solve complex NLP problems using state of the art methods.

Yext clients cover a tremendous breadth of industries. We are seeking data scientists excited to discover opportunities in data across a wide variety of business domains. You will work collaboratively with cross-team partners in software engineering, product management, and strategy.

What You'll Do

• Data analysis, filtration and quality assurance.
• Train machine learning models for production systems, track and analyze performance, debug problems and identify problems.
• Work closely with other Engineering and Product colleagues to advance the development of complex and sophisticated algorithmic product features.
• Communicate and clearly present results in verbally, in writing and graphically
• Propose ideas and solutions to problems observed during the course of other assignments

What You Have

• Pursuing a Masters or PhD in a quantitative field (e.g. Computer Science, Math, Physics, Bioinformatics, Operations Research, etc.), graduating between December 2022 and August 2023
• Programming experience in Python
• Data Analysis experience in SQL
• Autodidactic, Self directed – You are able to dive into a new unfamiliar problem domain and start learning about it – You are comfortable with uncertainty and project evolution
• Effective communicator, a good writer, and know effective means of visually displaying quantitative information
• Multitasking and prioritization skills to respond in a timely manner to colleagues
• Familiarity with recent publications in the NLP field

Bonus Points

• Experience with JVM languages (e.g. Java, Scala)
• Experience with AWS, Linux and Mac environments
• Experience with databases (such as MySQL, Presto, or Postgres).
• Experience with neural network packages (TensorFlow, PyTorch) and/or attention-based language models
