Why Privy EngineeringWe're tackling interesting engineering and scaling problems managing high data volumes and the unique challenges of working alongside tens of thousands of unique store configurations.
Our teams are highly autonomous: we organize into small (3-5 engineer) teams working with designers and product managers to make rapid and continuous progress every day.
Our test suite is highly parallelized and completes in just 6 minutes, and every merge to the main branch is automatically built, tested, and deployed to production.
We love to stay up to date and use modern versions of modern frameworks: Rails 6.1+, and React 16.13+.
The RoleAs a Data Engineer, you will support our core business operations through the development, integration, and maintenance of internal tools and services. Key services include the Privy Platform, Snowflake, Salesforce, and Heap, in addition to tools like Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager.
Through this role, you will have the opportunity to engage multiple stakeholders in a cross-functional setting as we seek to align our data architecture with our core business and product strategy. You will be part of a broader Growth/Data team within Engineering and Product Development that primarily focuses on self-serve product development for our key customer segment of small and medium-sized businesses.

Responsibilities:

• You will lead the development and integration of internal tools and services for business operations
• You will analyze data to identify opportunities and gaps in our data availability and reporting
• You will maintain, consolidate, and retire internal systems to optimize for business and strategy
Project Management
• You will manage, prioritize, and balance stakeholder needs and requirements
• You will promote org-wide adoption of best practices in processes, technologies, and data
• You will document internal data models, definitions, and processes

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field or equivalent experience, with 3-4 years in a relevant role and industry
• You have experience with designing and maintaining BI systems in a SAAS environment
• You have experience with ETL development
• You have experience following best practices for documentation and code management
• You have a high proficiency in SQL
Nice to have's:
• You have proficiency or experience with Snowflake and Looker
• You have proficiency or experience with FiveTran
• You have proficiency or experience with Ruby
