About the Role:

As a Machine Learning Engineer (MLE), you will report to the tech lead of Machine Learning Products. As a part of this team, you will help support the ML/data products that underpin our business. You will help scale data-driven decision-making throughout the organization, provide ML support/best practices to partner teams, and help explore new ML product opportunities.

You Will:

• Support data products that set customer foreign exchange rates, detect bad actors using our product, draw inferences from customer behavior, and forecast currency volume, in addition to creating new data products that solve interesting problems.
• Build production data products that provide data derived results in real-time or batch.
• Provide insightful statistical analysis that extracts value from complex datasets and achieves targeted outcomes.
• Advocate for machine learning best practices throughout the organization.
• Have a significant impact on Remitly's bottom line.

You Have:

• 2-4+ years of work experience building production ready systems, and delivering data products to partners.
• 2-4+ years experience applying statistics and machine learning to problems that resulted in data-driven impact.
• Solid knowledge of both the theory and application of ML algorithms.
• Practical knowledge of object-oriented programming in Python.
• Solid knowledge of SQL and Python ML libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, scipy, numpy, matplotlib, pandas).
• Working knowledge of software engineering practices including code reviews, build processes, testing, and operations.
