In this office, Farfetchers like to have catch ups in the ball pit or creative moments by the grand piano!THE ROLEWe are looking for a Data Science Manager to join Farfetch in building the next-generation intelligent platform for online luxury fashion, powered by large-scale data and Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Information Retrieval, and Natural Language Processing algorithms. You will join a team of Data Scientists, Engineers, and Product Designers to help build and increase our data-driven products, through research and experimentation in Search & Discovery. You will report to the Senior Data Science Manager for Search and Ranks, and you will directly manage the Search and Ranks data science teams.

WHO YOU ARE

• MSc in a quantitative discipline: Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering.
• 5 years' experience in a Data Science related role, including at least 1 year experience in a management role, for example as a Lead Data Scientist
• Fluent in Python, common numerical and Math & ML packages (NumPy, SciPy, scikit-learn, pandas, Keras, TensorFlow, or PyTorch);
• Experience with NLP and text mining techniques.
• Familiarity with developing analytics pipelines for BI and data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau) is a plus

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Lead our teams of data scientists to develop advanced machine learning and Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques to improve our Search and Ranking algorithms
• Line manage the Lead Data Scientist(s), and other data scientists directly, including mentoring the teams, supporting research and development, and creating opportunities for the continued development of everyone in the team
• Work with data analysts and BI developers to develop an automated quality assurance process for Search and Ranks
• [With the Senior DS Manager, ] Manage the Data Science strategy for Search and Ranks, working with Engineering, Infrastructure, Architecture and Product teams to ensure FARFETCH continues to deliver world-class Search and Ranks results
