We are in search of a skilled Data Engineer with a demonstrated background in data platforms and data engineering technologies. This role offers an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in enhancing and managing our data infrastructure. We are looking for an individual who is skilled and enthusiastic about data engineering, who can contribute to ongoing improvement of the team and its workflows through applied expertise and collaborative learning, and who is able to effectively collaborate with stakeholders.
Location
This role can be located remotely in NY, NJ, CT, and PA (hybrid in NY office for individuals within 90 minute commute)
Responsibilities
- Data Platform Expertise: Demonstrate clear understanding of data engineering concepts and practices, and expertise in data engineering technologies and platforms. Manage and optimize end-to-end data workflows, ensuring high-quality, reliable data.
- Knowledge Sharing: Promote a culture of learning within the team and collaborate on process improvement. Participate in team growth by consistently sharing insights, best practices, and learnings.
- Project and Task Management: Effectively manage technical tasks in data engineering projects and collaborate with stakeholders, with support from senior team members or managers when needed.
- Data Ingestion and ETL/ELT: Design and implement data pipelines to collect, ingest, and transform data from various sources into a structured format.
- Data Quality: Collaborate with the team to maintain data quality standards, validate data, and resolve data quality issues.
- Data Warehousing: Design and maintain data warehousing solutions to efficiently store and manage large volumes of data.
- Automation and Orchestration: Automate routine data engineering tasks to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Data Applications: Develop and maintain data applications for machine learning interfaces, CRUD operations, and interactive analysis.
- Performance Optimization: Identify and implement optimizations across the data stack to enhance data pipeline performance and reduce processing times.
- Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for data pipelines, processes, and data flows.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders, to understand data requirements and deliver data solutions.
- Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging data engineering technologies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in a data engineer role working with multiple data engineering technologies or platforms.
- Prior background in one or more of the following domains: Banking Technology, Insurance Technology, or Consultancy within the banking or insurance sectors
- Strong interest in risk modeling.
- Demonstrated expertise in SQL and Python scripting.
- Strong understanding of data modeling concepts.
- Proficiency in data integration and ETL tools (e.g., Stitch/Talend, Airbyte, Fivetran, etc).
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and technologies (e.g., Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, etc).
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Familiarity with data governance and security best practices.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.

Base Salary
The base salary range is between $130,000-$150,000 annually.
Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise, location and current market data and may vary from the range above.
