Role Objective

• We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our Global Consumer Goods vertical and be responsible for building a Data Science practice within the Conversions team.


• More specifically, this person will be responsible for (1) identifying problems and opportunities to be tackled through Data Science, (2) structuring and executing new DS projects, (3) working collaboratively with multiple teams to tackle ad hoc business issues.


• The position has strong analytical and leadership components, requiring the person to be comfortable with SQL analysis, multi-language meetings, and ambiguity in day-to-day decisions.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are essential for interpreting data and working with problems that don't have a closed solution. The right candidate will have a knack for statistics/causal inference, passion for discovering solutions hidden in large data sets, and ability to drive real business outcomes.


• During the pandemic, work will be 100% remote. Afterwords, office attendance will be required once or twice a week. The candidate must be based in either São Paulo or Bogotá.

Key Requirements

• Have a degree in information technology, mathematics/ statistics, business management, engineering, or related fields
• Have 2+ years of practical experience as a Data Scientist
• Have an analytical mind and strong business acumen
• Have advanced, practical knowledge of SQL, Python, and Experiment Design.
• Have experience creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistics: regression, simulation, scenario analysis, modeling, clustering, decision trees, neural networks, etc.
• Are able to work with both structured and unstructured data
• Are excited about Rappi's service and the tech space in general
• Are comfortable leading meetings, working under pressure, and in a fast-paced environment
• Love getting your hands dirty, rather than just building reports
• Are a self-starter and have a proven track record of initiating new projects
• Are fluent in two out of these three languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese.

Desired Requirements

• Previous experience in consulting, retail, e-commerce, startups or VCs is a big plus.
• Airflow and Power BI knowledge.
