Our AI (including machine learning and natural language processing) teams sit at the epicenter of our H1’s data platform and products. While H1 has teams collecting, curating, and normalizing data from hundreds of disparate sources from around the globe, it is the AI teams that are responsible for developing a comprehensive information organization and insights discovery process to power our products. Our organization is also responsible for building processes and infrastructure to both do ML at scale and leverage it to speed up the turn-around time for ML algorithms that automate knowledge discovery.
The RoleYou will work on challenging business problems at the intersection of machine learning, NLP, knowledge graphs, and information systems. You will design workflows, processes, and end-to-end pipelines for quickly connecting data to models. You will create prototype implementations with a focus on streamlining the core data science development. The ideal candidate will have a software engineering background with experience in building data science pipelines and an understanding of modeling.
You will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team that includes analysts, data scientists, domain SME’s, ML/AI scientists, engineering and product organizations to design and launch AI solutions that power H1’s products.  Seniority will be commensurate with experience and accomplishments.

Responsibilities

• Develop workflow, pipelines, and tooling for ETL, feature engineering, data analysis, modeling, and model deployment. 
• Support the processing and ingestion of data from data acquisition and engineering partners.
• Work closely with research scientists to develop appropriate features for modeling.
• Work closely with software engineers to develop and adapt workflows and processes for deployment.
• Take ownership of the tooling required for building and testing models.

Requirements

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, statistics, or related quantitative discipline with a focus on software engineering and/or machine learning.
• A demonstrable track record of developing data pipelines, working with data streaming and ingestion, developing data science workflows, and delivering/deploying data science projects.
• Software engineering experience in two or more of C/C++, Python, Scala, Java, R.
• Experience with big data ecosystem (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, Kafka)
• Experience with AWS ecosystem
• Understanding of containerization and orchestration techniques (Kubernetes, dockers)
• Experience with ML and deep learning frameworks (e.g., sklearn, MLLib, sagemaker, Keras, Tensorflow, MxNet) preferred
• Demonstrated capability to understand and implement machine learning algorithms and their mathematical foundations
• Experience working with unstructured, and multi-modal datasets preferred
• A collaborative team player with a passion to transform healthcare for better using AI and Machine Learning
